Reduce Energy Consumption

for what Heidelberg thinks printshops need to know on the subject
of energy consumption in the pressroom.
Suprasetter CtP Family
The family of Suprasetters only supplies power to the diodes
when the plate is being imaged - minimizing power usage. For
example, the energy consumption of the A52/75 series is only
one-fifth as much as the competition (1 kW vs. 5 kW) - or less than
an average hair-dryer uses.
Synchronous sinusoidal drive
This advanced drive technology reduces losses by 30 percent
compared to conventional drives.

one another and the press while ensuring both cost-effectiveness
and environmentally sounds production.
DryStar Combination
The DryStar HotAir/IR combination dryers are designed for
maximum efficiency. This is achieved by a minimal distance between
the dryer and the sheet, using the unique round-nozzle technology.
DryStar UV dryers and lamps with new
ballasts
These dryers create maximum efficiency due to minimal
distance between the dryer and sheet and a dichroitic reflector
coating. New electronic ballasts significantly reduce standby power
consumption (by 40 percent).
Recycling of hot air in Y and final dryers
Available for presses with a double coater configuration
(LYYL), the recycling of up to 50% of the hot air from the first
Y-unit (dryer unit) to the second Y-unit achieves significant
energy-savings.
Water-cooled
peripherals
All Cabinets for the DryStar dryers, AirStar air supply and
the Combi unit are water cooled, maintaining a healthy climate in
the pressroom.

Free-cooling
Another energy-saving feature is "free cooling", which is
used to lower power consumption for inking unit temperature
control.
AirStar air supply system
This frequency-controlled turbo radial fan has an efficiency
rating of over 70 percent and dramatically reduces energy
consumption and waste heat.
