In December 2005 former "Komori only" customer
Crossmark Graphics, New Berlin, installed the new Speedmaster XL
105-6+L which is now running with a maximum capacity of 18,000 iph
in the Wisconsin print shop.
Heidelberg USA Systemservice Director Richard Mack and his
colleagues Randy Wiersma and Greg Kasprzak recently visited the
print shop to find out how the machine is running.
They spoke with Jim Dobrzynski, the president of Crossmark
Graphics who admitted that he would not have bought the Speedmaster
XL 105 without Systemservice 36plus: The benefits of the program
like eSelfhelp, the Image Control, which covers uptime guarantee of
the Xenon lamp through proactive Remote Service and the automatic
alerting function through Intelligent Device Management finally
convinced the customer.

"The XL is amazing, not just its speed of 18,000 iph,
but also how quick you can get a sellable sheet. The combination of
fast problem resolution, Heidelberg maintenance and repair and the
parts coverage is maximizing total production output and minimizing
downtimes," Jim Dobrzynski emphasized.
"When Heidelberg offered the Speedmaster XL 105 on the
occasion of the Print '05, I went right away to Komori and
asked them, if they had a similar product like Heidelberg's
Systemservice 36plus. Komori first said, "No way!", but then
offered me an extended warranty. However they were not able to come
up with a comprehensive service solution like Systemservice 36plus
covering intelligent support services, maintenance and repair &
parts to minimize total cost of ownership. I then purchased the
XL105. I would even be willing to become a pilot tester for
Heidelberg's proactive services in the future - everything that
helps to eliminate downtime makes sense to me."
