All-Heidelberg Commercial Printer Installs Printmaster PM 74
with Perfector
KENNESAW, Ga. - Vital Printing, an all-Heidelberg general
commercial print shop located in West Palm Beach, Fla., recently
installed a four-color Printmaster PM 74 with perfector to expand
capabilities and fulfill increasing customer demand.
"This shop started as a quick printer, and we were very
successful in that market," said Bill Vitale, owner. "At the
beginning, we found a niche that worked for us - short runs of
two-color work. We don't want to become a large, high-volume
printer suddenly, but we're ready to expand our niche to include
the 28-inch format and four-color work."
The new press replaces a two-color Printmaster PM 74 with 24
million impressions recorded. Vital Printing is using the new
system to print four-color runs of small pocket folders, brochures,
fliers and inserts. Since the installation in February 2005, Vitale
notes that productivity has increased and overtime has decreased
significantly.
The Printmaster PM 74 is ideal for print shops looking to
move into 50 x 70 (28-inch) format printing. This versatile press
allows printers to increase productivity, expand their range of
services and react more flexibly to customer needs.
The optional perfecting device on the Printmaster PM 74 for
perfecting in a single pass cuts production times considerably,
increasing productivity and maximizing profits at consistently
high-quality levels. The semi-automatic three-drum device transfers
the sheet true-to-register with one gripper closure, and the press
operator can switch from straight printing to perfecting mode in a
few simple steps.
"The Printmaster family is specifically geared towards the
needs of small to medium-sized shops, such as Vital Printing, who
want to grow their business in multicolor offset printing," said
Carsten Ruebel, product manager, 74 format press. "The Printmaster
PM 74 is an affordable option that will allow for accelerated
growth into new markets and with existing customers."
Vitale confirms that the shop has already brought in two new
clients while work for existing clients has increased with the
installation of the new Printmaster PM 74.
"We buy equipment based on the needs of our customers, and we
make sure that the purchase will not plunge the shop into debt,"
said Vitale. "I've filled my shop with Heidelberg equipment, piece
by piece, and the company has always provided me with an affordable
option.
Founded in 1980, Vital Printing is a family-owned and
operated shop that produces general commercial work for local
businesses in its 5,000 square-foot facility. With only seven
full-time employees, the shop brought in 1.7 US-Dollar in revenue
last year and expects to meet its projected revenue of two million
US-Dollar in 2005.
