Allegra Print & Imaging of Seattle Adds Printmaster QM 46
Press from Heidelberg
Allegra Print & Imaging of Seattle recently added a
two-color Printmaster
QM 46 to increase productivity. The new press is being used
to produce letterhead, envelopes, brochures, flyers and newsletters
at speeds averaging 8,000 impressions per hour. Since the
installation, Allegra Print & Imaging of Seattle has noted
increased productivity and efficiency. Founded in 1989, this small
general commercial printer houses 10 employees. Allegra Print &
Imaging of Seattle is located north of downtown Seattle, Wash. and
serves a broad range of small to medium size business customers.
Boyd Brothers Installs Speedmaster SM 102 with CutStar
Boyd Brothers Inc., located in Panama City, Fla., recently
installed its second eight-color Speedmaster SM 102 with perfector
and CutStar roll sheeter. The all-Heidelberg printer decided to
install the new press after experiencing substantial reductions in
production and paper costs from its first eight-color Speedmaster
press with CutStar. Since the installation, Boyd Brothers has
significantly reduced its printing rates, thus obtaining more
business and increasing profitability. Founded in 1931, Boyd
Brothers is a family-owned and operated shop that specializes in
publication-type and general commercial work. The shop houses 105
employees and services regional clients within a 250-mile radius of
Panama City, Fla.
Brown's Bindery Enters Commercial Market with Postpress
Equipment from Heidelberg
Brown's Bindery, located in Columbia, S.C., recently
installed a Heidelberg ECO 105 folder gluer, a Stahlfolder SSP 82
scoring, slitting and perforating machine and a KAMA 105
die-cutter. The new additions have expanded the shop's postpress
capabilities, thus supporting the shop's transition from a
traditional trade bindery to a commercial finishing and fulfillment
business. Since the installations, the shop has grown its customer
base due to expanded applications abilities and faster turnaround
times. Founded in 1984, Brown's Bindery is a family-owned and
operated business.
Colorado Printing Co. Installs New Speedmaster SM 102
Colorado Printing Co., based in Grand Junction, Colo.,
recently added a 10-color Speedmaster SM 102 press with perfector
to increase capacity. The press is used to produce a wide range of
general commercial work, including short-run magazines and an
assortment of marketing materials. The new equipment satisfies
customer demand for quality and enables the shop to handle larger
workloads more efficiently. The Speedmaster SM 102 is the newest
addition to an all-Heidelberg shop, which includes several
Speedmaster presses running alongside Heidelberg cutters, folders
and stitchers. Founded in 1947, Colorado Printing Co. earns
approximately $15 million in revenue and houses more than 100
employees.
Composite Forms, Inc. Improves Quality with Heidelberg
Printmaster QM 46
Composite Forms, Inc., located in Port Chester, N.Y.,
recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 from Heidelberg to
enhance its small-format printing capabilities. The Printmaster QM
46 enables the shop to produce more complex work while
significantly boosting output. Since the installation, Composite
Forms reports increases in its small-format workload due to
improvements in quality and productivity. The shop produces a wide
range of materials on the new press, including cut-sheet work,
direct marketing pieces and various business materials. Founded in
1978, Composite Forms, Inc. is a family-owned and operated general
commercial printer that services primarily corporate clients at
both local and national levels.
Ford Press Increases Production with Printmaster PM 52
Ford Press, based in Leesburg, Fla., recently installed a
four-color Printmaster PM 52 from Heidelberg to increase
efficiency. The new press is being used to produce four-color work,
including brochures, postcards and newsletters at an average of
11,000 impressions per hour. Since the installation, Ford Press has
increased its productivity efficiency and quality of work. Ford
Press is a mid-sized general commercial printer that serves mostly
local clients including advertising agencies and corporations.
Founded in 1957, the family-owned and operated shop houses 18
employees.
Galaxy Press Installs New Heidelberg Prosetter 74 CtP
Galaxy Press, based in Concord, Calif., recently installed a
new Prosetter 74 CtP to increase productivity and improve
efficiency in the prepress department. The shop also purchased
Saphira Violet Plates and chemistry, designed specifically for
Heidelberg platesetters. With the new Prosetter 74, Galaxy Press
now uses complete computer-to-plate imaging systems and has
eliminated film and stripping from its shop. The mid-size
commercial printer serves a regional clientele, including
advertising agencies, brokerages, media groups and large
corporations. The family-owned and operated shop was founded in
1977 and houses 10 employees.
Gangi Graphics Enters Four-Color Market with Printmaster GTO
52
Gangi Graphics, located in Brick, N.J., increased production
and improved quality with the recent addition of a four-color
Heidelberg Printmaster
GTO 52. Installed to meet increasing customer demand, the
press enables the shop to produce four-color jobs in one run. The
shop is using the new press to produce four-color work, including
flyers, brochures and business reports. Founded in 1993, Gangi
Graphics is a family-owned general commercial printer housing seven
employees. The shop services a wide range of clients, including
large corporations, small businesses and academic institutions.
Gillespie Printing, Inc. Increases Quality with Printmaster PM
52 and Prosetter 52
Gillespie Printing, Inc., located in Catasauqua, Pa.,
recently transitioned into the five-color market with the addition
of a Heidelberg Printmaster PM 52 with perfector. Since the
installation, the shop has reported increases in efficiency and
workload capacity. In addition to the PM 52, Gillespie Printing
installed a Heidelberg Prosetter 52 to move from polyester
platesetting to a more advanced computer-to-plate system, thus
increasing plate size and producing higher-quality work. Gillespie
Printing uses Heidelberg consumables products, including Saphira
Violet Plates and chemistry. Founded in 1956, Gillespie Printing
houses 12 employees and serves a local clientele that includes
corporations and academic institutions.
Heritage Press Increases Profitability with Printmaster QM 46
and Quicksetter 300E
Heritage Press, based in Signal Hill, Calif., recently
installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 and a Quicksetter 300E
imagesetter from Heidelberg to increase efficiency and eliminate
outsourcing. The new press enables the shop to produce most work
in-house, resulting in lower costs and higher profits. To
compliment its new prepress equipment, Heritage Press uses
Heidelberg consumables products, including Cristala Quickplate
polyester plates and chemistry. Founded in 1982, Heritage Press is
a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that houses
three employees. The shop services a wide range of clients,
including engineering firms, hospitals and churches.
JaM Printing Increases Productivity with Printmaster QM 46
JaM Printing, located in Elmsford, N.Y., recently installed a
Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46 to improve quality and boost

advanced automation on the press. JaM Printing uses the QM 46 to

Keystone Press Inc. Boost Productivity with New Speedmaster
SM 74
Keystone Press, Inc., based in Chamblee, Ga. recently
installed a six-color Speedmaster SM 74 with perfector and in-line
coating to replace an existing Heidelberg press. With the new SM
74, Keystone continues to produce high-quality work on a larger
sheet format, allowing the shop to serve a wider range of clients.
In addition, the perfecting and in-line coating units have boosted
the shop's productivity and overall capabilities. Currently,
Keystone uses the new press to produce corporate newsletters,
annual reports, multi-color training manuals and magazine inserts.

Lake County Press, Inc. Enters UV Market with Speedmaster
CD 102
Lake County Press, Inc., based in Waukegan, Ill., recently
installed an eight-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 with coater
to increase capacity and extend its product line into the UV
market. In addition to its conventional printing capabilities, the
Speedmaster CD 102 enables Lake County Press to print on plastics,
vinyl and uncoated stocks. Since the installation, the shop reports
increases in productivity and higher, consistent speeds on a wider
variety of substrates. Founded in 1970, Lake County Press is a
general commercial printer housing 214 employees. The
all-Heidelberg shop serves approximately 500 local and national
clients annually, including pharmaceutical, financial and creative
design companies.
LB Graph-X & Printing, Inc. Increases Efficiency with POLAR
92 XT from Heidelberg
LB Graph-X & Printing, Inc., based in New York, N.Y.,
recently installed a second POLAR 92 XT high-speed cutter from
Heidelberg to increase capacity. Since the installation, the shop
reports a 50 percent reduction in cutting time, resulting in faster
transitions from press to postpress. LB Graph-X uses the new cutter
to produce a wide variety of materials, including postcards,
business cards and posters. Founded in 2000, LB Graph-X is an
all-Heidelberg general commercial printer housing 32 employees. The
shop services both local and national clients in various
industries, including entertainment, travel, real estate, marketing
and fashion.
Old Ina Corporation Adds POLAR 115 X, Prinect Printready System
to All-Heidelberg Shop
Old Ina Corporation, based in Tucson, Ariz., recently
increased productivity with the addition of a POLAR 115 X cutter.
Old Ina reports that the new equipment has cut labor by 50 percent,
allowing for reallocation of the workforce to other areas in the
shop. The general commercial printer also recently installed
Heidelberg's Prinect Printready System to maximize workflow
efficiency. The new cutter compliments an all-Heidelberg shop that
includes a six-color Speedmaster SM 74 with coater, a two-color
Speedmaster SM 74 perfector, a Stitchmaster ST 90 and a Heidelberg
Stahlfolder TF 66 with gatefold attachment. Founded in 1981, Old
Ina Corporation houses 60 employees and serves a wide range of
clients, including advertising agencies and small to mid-sized
businesses.
Printing Plus Increases Efficiency with Prosetter 52 and Prinect
solutions from Heidelberg
Printing Plus, located in North Houston, Texas, recently
installed a Heidelberg Prosetter 52 to increase quality and
efficiency. With the new system, the shop is transitioning from
film processing to computer-to-plate workflow. Since the
installation of the Prosetter, Printing Plus reports decreased
prepress labor, faster makeready times and increased workload
capacity. Printing Plus also added Prinect MetaDimension and
Prinect Signa Station software to enhance its prepress technology
and streamline its PDF workflow. The shop uses Heidelberg
consumables products, including Saphira Violet plates and
chemistry. Founded in 1987, Printing Plus houses six employees and
services primarily local businesses and non-profit organizations.
Quantum Color Graphics Adds Stitchmaster ST 270 to
All-Heidelberg Shop
Quantum Color Graphics, located in Morton Grove, Ill.,
recently installed a Heidelberg Stitchmaster ST 270 to enhance
technology in its bindery. Since the installation, the
all-Heidelberg shop reports greater productivity, quality and
capacity due to the stitcher's ability to produce 12 x 18-inch
materials. The new saddlestitcher is used to finish a wide range of
work, including annual reports, brochures, calendars and catalogs.
Founded in 1991, Quantum Color Graphics is a family-owned and
operated general commercial printer housing 130 employees. The shop
services a variety of local and national clients, including
entertainment providers, corporations and graphic designers.
Vogue Printers Installs New Printmaster PM 52 Press
Vogue Printers recently increased productivity with the
installation of a five-color Printmaster PM 52 press. The new press
has increased production and improved efficiency with faster
makereadies and a higher quality product. The shop is using the new
PM 52 to produce a variety of pieces including book covers,
postcards, catalogues and brochures. Vogue Printers is a mid-sized,
general commercial printer located in Waukegan, Ill. Founded in
1968, the shop serves a local client base, and houses 20 employees.
Zellerbach Paper Company Expands Business with POLAR 137 XT
Zellerbach Paper Company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah,
recently installed a POLAR 137 XT high-speed cutter to upgrade
existing bindery equipment. The shop reports that the cutter's
speed and functionality have increased production and boosted
morale amongst employees. Since the installation, the POLAR 137 XT
has expanded business by producing a wider range of cuts, thus
increasing the shop's workload capacity. Founded in the late 1800s,
Zellerbach Paper Company is a distribution facility owned by
International Paper that houses 56 employees. The shop serves a
variety of clients, including local printers, businesses and
schools.
