Open House Event Held in Conjunction with Sunbelt Graphics Show
in Atlanta
KENNESAW, Ga., - Heidelberg today announced that it will host
an open house event at its Print Media Demonstration Center (PMDC)
to introduce printers to the state-of-the-art facility, which is
designed to foster industry education and help companies make
informed business decisions. Held in conjunction with The Printing
Industry Association of Georgia's (PIAG) Sunbelt Graphics Show,
Heidelberg's open house event will take place on March 16 from 5
p.m. to 8 p.m. at the company's U.S. headquarters in Kennesaw, Ga.
"The PMDC was built as a resource and educational center
for the print media industry," said James Dunn, president of
Heidelberg USA. "Heidelberg has opened this facility to the
industry to provide organizations, thought leaders and business
owners with an unparalleled demonstration center environment
designed to promote learning and the exchange of
ideas."
Heidelberg's 33,000 square-foot PMDC is the largest facility
of its kind in the world. The center is home to 58 printing units
covering a broad spectrum of prepress, press and postpress
solutions, including Heidelberg's newest press, the Speedmaster XL
105. Visitors also can experience Heidelberg's Prinect integrated
workflow solution, which provides visibility across a print shop to
help companies increase production efficiency.
Since the facility's unveiling in May 2005, more than 250
companies have come to the PMDC to experience demonstrations and
participate in peer groups and training seminars on topics ranging
from UV to workflow management. In addition to hosting training
seminars and demonstrations, Heidelberg has sponsored several key
industry organizations and associations. Industry professionals are
encouraged to take advantage of the facility for conferences, demos
and other event needs.
Attendees of the open house event will experience live
demonstrations and have the opportunity to connect with Heidelberg
specialists across all solution areas. Among the solutions they
will see in action are Heidelberg's Speedmaster XL 105, Speedmaster
SM 102 with perfector and CutStar roll sheeter, Suprasetter 102
platesetting device and Stahlfolder TH 66 folder as well as a full
