Kennesaw, Ga. - Heidelberg USA announces the following new product installations: HONBLUE, Inc. Goes A Shade Greener with Suprasetter A52 HONBLUE, Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii reports the installation of a Suprasetter A52 CtP device with Prinect Hybrid Screening at its Electric Pencil print facility as part of a move to upgrade its prepress system and advance the company's ongoing "green" initiative. The new chemistry-free, energy-sparing thermal platesetter system, which boasts the lowest energy consumption and the lowest heat output in the small-format thermal platesetter class, replaces the company's existing violet Prosetter, yielding greater efficiency and reduced running costs. Prinect Hybrid Screening also has enhanced the company's overall print image quality, especially in the highlight areas. The new Suprasetter images Saphira Chemfree plates for the company's 6-color Speedmaster CD 74, 4-color Speedmaster SM 52 and 4-color Printmaster GTO presses. "Our waste is low and our changeovers are extremely fast," said Tom Kingery, president. And while Kingery typically uses the small-format SM 52 to handle runs from 1,000 to 10,000 sheets, "we're also selling the machine on its long-run capabilities," he added. Vital Printing Slips into Higher Gear with Suprasetter A75 Install Vital Printing Corporation, a high-quality general commercial printer in West Palm Beach, Fla. has installed a Suprasetter A75 automated top-loading CtP device with Prinect Prepress Manager workflow. The new platesetter, which replaces the company's existing violet Prosetter, uses Heidelberg Saphira Chemfree thermal plates, runs unattended and has yielded noticeable improvements in speed and quality on press. According to prepress coordinator Ron Ross, "There's no more manual feeding, roll-up is quick and easy, and our pressmen have very few issues getting color and water up on press." The new workflow enables central control of all prepress work steps with transfer of presetting data to Vital's pressroom, which is home to a 4-color Printmaster 74 perfector and two Printmaster QM 46-2s. In addition to Saphira Chemfree plates, the company also uses a variety of pressroom consumables, including fountain foils, blanket wash rolls and assorted accessories for the QM46 presses. Installs Second QM 46 Press When Admore, Inc., Macomb, Mich. needed a workhorse press to replace an existing, nine-year-old Printmaster QM 46-2 from Heidelberg, it simply bought another. A specialty printer of presentation folders and related products, Admore had logged more than 75 million impressions on the older press before trading up to the new model. Expectations are that the new press will establish an enviable track record of its own, turning out a variety of high-quality small-format document and wallet folders Admore sells through dealers and resellers nationwide. "This particular machine fits our product line to the 't', said Bill Tignanelli, general manager. According to Director of Marketing Tina Beauchemin, the ease of use and fast makereadies enabled by the new folder-gluer are also a big plus for the handling of frequent job changeovers needed to process multiple short runs from 5,000 to 50,000 pieces. "The ECO 105 has become a valuable addition to our folding and gluing operation due to its ability to handle a wide range of folding configurations and sizes," said Kevin Neureuter, Director of Operations.
