Event teaches nearly 150 regional printers, graphic artists and
print buyers about variable data and on-demand printing
KENNESAW, Ga., - Nearly 150 Sacramento, Calif.-area printers,
graphic artists and print buyers attended Heidelberg's first 2003
Digital Roadshow to learn about variable data applications and
on-demand printing, among other key digital topics and business
strategies.
The event, hosted by Heidelberg's Digital Business
Development Services group and Sacramentoon based printer Digital
Logistix, was the first in a series to be held this year throughout
the country. Heidelberg Digital Roadshows are aimed to help local
NexPress and Digimaster customers learn strategies and tactics to
help them succeed and gain increased business. The roadshows also
provide potential customers and interested audiences answers to
questions about realizing profits through digital printing as well
as valuable information on Heidelberg equipment. This is the second
year the Heidelberg Digital Roadshow events have been conducted.
"The success of our roadshows this year and last, demonstrate
the increasing demand for variable data printing and the growing
importance of the digital printing community," said Vahaaj Khan,
director of digital product management. "Throughout the year we
will continue to conduct roadshows and other events that spread the
word about how to succeed in digital business. If this event is any
indication of the growing interest in digital printing, then it
appears that Heidelberg and our customers will be very busy in
2003."
Digital Logistix, whose services include the production and
distribution of technical publications, training manuals or direct
mail programs, is one of those growing Heidelberg customers. The
company has two Heidelberg NexPress color digital presses and seven
Digimaster black and white digital presses running three shifts
year round.
Through Heidelberg's Business Development Services, customers
like Digital Logistix learn how to adopt business strategies that
drive profit and revenue growth. The group, comprised of five
experienced consultants who work directly with print company owners
and their employees all across the U.S., offers a wide variety of
services, including creating business and marketing plans, sales,
marketing and technical training, and conducting educational forums
and road shows.
"The Heidelberg Digital Roadshows offer an opportunity
for our customers to gain hands-on experience and view
demonstrations on producing digital applications," said Richard
Sand, director of business development services. "Our specialists
teach them techniques on how to create innovative products using
variable data and cutting edge machinery by some of the industries
leading professionals."
The roadshow includes two sessions that reach the broad
spectrum of audiences involved in the digital printing. The morning
session includes instruction and information for graphic artists,
commercial printers and print brokers while the afternoon session
was exclusively held for government printers, print buyers and
corporate in-plant operators.
"Seminars like these are important in reaffirming with our
customers that Heidelberg is a partner that provides the tools
needed to build stronger, more successful businesses," said Bill
Ferrara, west coast sales manager of digital printing for
Heidelberg. "This event drew participants from all over the West -
showing a commitment and eagerness to learn how to take advantage
of the many businesses opportunities that digital printing has to
offer."
Future Heidelberg Digital Roadshow dates are currently being
scheduled and will soon be available on Heidelberg's website at
www.heidelberg.com.
