Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is the world-wide leading provider of solutions for the print media industry. The Heidelberg name is internationally associated with leading technology, top quality, and closeness to customers. The core business of this technology group covers with its equipment and services the entire process and value chain of the sheetfed offset format classes from 20 inches (35 x 50 cm) to 64 inches (121 x 162 cm).

Heidelberg develops and manufactures precision printing presses, equipment for plate imaging and postpress finishing as well as digital inkjet systems for packaging manufacturers. The services division comprises the company's portfolio of technical services for improved machine availability - such as routine maintenance within the scope of service contracts or spare parts supply. What's more, Heidelberg's performance services increase the profitability of printshops: business consulting, trainings and seminars of the Print Media Academy, consumables, workflow software for integrating all of processes of a printing company as well as reconditioning of used equipment. With its Financial Services division Heidelberg supports investments of its customers with financing concepts.

Furthermore, contract manufacturing - mainly for customers from other engineering sectors and the energy sector - is gaining importance at Heidelberg.

Sustainable environmental protection is in the focus of all of the company's activities. Measures in development, production and regarding the use of equipment are reducing resource consumption and therefore the carbon footprint, other emissions and process related waste.

Based in the city of Heidelberg, Germany, with production and development sites in seven countries and around 250 sales and service units world-wide, the company serves about 200,000 customers. Printing presses, prepress and postpress equipment are mainly produced in Germany in compliance with severe quality standards. For the Chinese market, standardized printing machines for all common format classes as well as folding machines are manufactured in Qingpu near Shanghai, China.

Heidelberg equipment is used around the world to produce high-quality print products such as advertising material, brochures, posters, folding cartons and labels.

In financial year 2009/2010, the company had a sales volume of 2.306 billion Euros.

As of March 31, 2010, the Heidelberg Group has employed a workforce of 16,496 including 700 trainees and apprentices.
