The Preset Feeder Is Very Easy to Operate. This Ensures Fast Job Changes and Dependable Sheet Travel.

The Speedmaster CD 74 is equipped with a Preset feeder with a large range of standard features. The suction head, pile sensors and side lay are set automatically to the paper format. The supply of blast air to the suction head is speed-compensated and based on characteristic curves that are dependent on the stock thickness. Automatic functions keep the pile centered and control feeding of the sheets.

A central suction tape reliably guides all stocks to the front and side lays without a rake, thus eliminating the need to make additional adjustments. The side lay is pneumatic and very gentle on the sheets. To meet the special requirements of printing on board, the stock is subjected to only minimal bending in the feeder. The front lay guard automatically adjusts to thicker, stiffer materials.

All settings are executed automatically based on the sheet thickness and size entered at the Prinect CP2000 Center. During the production run, the arrival times of early and late sheets are corrected without the need for the operator to manually intervene. Multiple sheets and fragments of paper and board are reliably identified by the stream control at the start of the stream and by means of a double-sheet detector integrated in the pull lay. This makes for maximum reliability. When space is at a premium, the pile can be fed laterally into the feeder from the operator's side of the press.
