Quick-Response Inking Unit

Speeding up makeready and avoiding paper waste are key for reducing costs. This is supported by the harmonious interplay of the quick-response inking units of the Speedmaster CD 74 with the Color Fast Solution software. The press reacts instantly to requested changes to inking and dampening. This lets you achieve the OK sheet in a minimum of time and maintain it over the entire production.

Because the Speedmaster CD 74 was developed specifically for high-quality commercial and packaging printing, Heidelberg's engineers accepted no compromises where print quality and the stability of ink feed is concerned.

All elements of the inking unit are geometrically optimized; the movements of the oscillator rollers support uniform inking. At the same time, the system adapts flexibly to different situations: Standard features of the Speedmaster CD 74 include a short-path inking mode for jobs with particularly light inking, a "zero oscillation function", and separation of roller groups during stoppages to cut down on waste when resuming production.
