The success or failure of a service-focused print shop often depends on its speed and flexibility. As a result of increasing differentiation of products and target groups, runs are getting shorter and job changes more frequent. This is where medium-size presses really offer cost advantages - they are quick to set up and provide stable production conditions. Automated make-ready and easy-to-control sheet travel make the Speedmaster CD 74 an extremely user-friendly press for a broad range of substrates from flimsy papers to stiff board and plastic sheets. Industrial packaging printers running constant multiple shifts have a particular need for a robust press able to produce long runs at top speed. To help achieve this, the digital Prinect CP2000 Center press control system supports rapid sheet-size and stock changes.
The Speedmaster CD 74 is available in two formats: C-format - 53 x 74 centimeter (20.87 x 29.13 inch) and F-format - 60.5 x 74 centimeter (23.82 x 29.13 inch), with or without perfecting device. These options allow very flexible configuration of all models in the series.

The iF seal for outstanding design quality is an impor- tant award for international companies and designers. The Speedmaster CD 74 won an exceptional distinc- tion when it was chosen to receive the Product Design Award 2001. From a total of 1,320 entries, the press was selected - together with nine other products - for the Top Ten list. iF Design GmbH
